The story of Borroni Powertrain tells of the highest quality world-class standards in terms of niche production of powertrain components and, first and foremost, high-performance camshafts and crankshafts.

Borroni Powertrain has thus launched into the international market a new premium quality automotive concept tailored to customer requirements.

1973

Giuseppe Borroni, the production manager at Montepilli S.p.A., a European leader in the manufacture of crankshafts, left the company and set up F.lli Borroni S.p.A. with his brother Vito.

1995

Takeover of Montepilli S.p.A.
Following the takeover, F.lli Borroni continued to grow and started to make camshafts; it expanded its production departments and engaged qualified technicians who boasted a large experience in the industry.

2002

F.lli Borroni S.p.A. moved to its new 10,000 m2 plant in Saronno with a workforce of over 100 employees.

2010

The first fully automated camshaft production line went into operation.

2014

The Streparava Group along with entrepreneurs Guglielmo Ruggeri and Fabrizio Vicari took over Borroni Powertrain.
Borroni Powertrain became the flagship of the Streparava Group, a leading manufacturer of car chassis and engine component parts with factories all over the world and over 700 employees.

2016

April 11th, 2016 the Streparava Holding S.p.A acquired by Mr. Guglielmo Ruggeri and Mr Fabrizio Vicari the residual minority shares of B.P.T. Borroni Powertrain Srl. Therefore. Streparava Holding will be the sole shareholder of B.P.T. Borroni Powertrain.
